Frequently Asked Questions


Q: What medications may I take 24 hours prior to my nuclear stress test?

A: Do not take medications on the day of test. Diabetic patients should hold medications prior to testing. Bring medications with you and take after testing is completed.

Q:
How soon will a referral patient be seen by the Doctor?

A: We make every effort to see all new patient referrals within 24-48 hours.

Q: I am scheduled for cardiac catherization; what are the pre-cath instructions?
A:  Nothing to eat or drink after Midnight the night before the test.  However, if the procedure is scheduled after 1:00 PM, you may drink clear liquids, like tea and apple juice (not to exceed 12 ounces) before 6:00 AM, on the day of the procedure.

    Take your medications with a little water unless otherwise instructed by your doctor.

   
Do not take Diabetic Medication or Diuretics (fluid pills) the day of the procedure.

   
If you take Blood Pressure Medication, Aspirin or Plavix, you MUST take these medications the day of the procedure.
 
    Remember to arrange for transportation by another person after the test.  You will not be able to drive yourself.
